Quality Systems

Canata and Seggie Chartered Architects operate Quality Control Systems that meet the ISO 9001 Standard for all our drawing, specification and office management procedures. This commitment to Quality Control ensures that the necessary and appropriate management system controls are applied to the provision of our professional services on all jobs.

With regard to the project team structure and organisation the requirements and complexities of each project is assessed after appointment and a job-specific Quality Plan prepared by a director for each work stage. On completion of this a project team, headed by a director, is formed to fully resource the specific demands of each work stage of the project through to completion. Unlike larger practices, the directors operate a hands-on approach and are directly involved in every aspect of the design, specification and construction of their projects.

Our project Quality Plans closely follow the procedures laid down in the RIBA Plan of Work and the office quality manual is constantly reviewed and improved to keep pace with changes to existing construction legislation and the introduction of new legislation such as the CDM Regulations and the DDA.

The office has an NBS formatted library, complete with a database that is updated monthly to include all current standards and design & construction guidance documents. Specifications are prepared using the RIBA Enterprises / NBS Building interactive specification writing software.

In addition to subscribing to RIBA Enterprises / NBS Building, the Practice also subscribes to RIAS Practice Services, NHBC and TRADA all of which publish regular Newsletters and Technical Information Bulletins on to keep us up to date with changes and developments in technical, professional and legal matters relating to the construction industry.
